About
Hey!
I’m Sohrab, thanks for looking at my page! I have a Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry, and have always been a creator at heart. When 3D printing technology hit the consumer market, I didn’t hesitate and became an early adopter. I started out just dabbling in it as a hobby, but before I knew it, it became my profession.
One thing I love about 3D printing is the ability to quickly bring my ideas to life. With traditional manufacturing methods, you often have to wait weeks or even months to see a physical prototype. With 3D printing, I can have a concept in my head and hold it in my hand the same day. It's such a satisfying feeling!
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in various lab environments. I've worked with research groups during university, and even got hands-on experience in an orthotics lab and an orthodontics lab post graduation. More recently, I worked at a start-up called Casca Designs Inc, a shoe company that specialized in custom 3D printed insoles. I was tasked with manufacturing and process optimization of the insoles. The team was very small so each of us played a critical role, and often worked together towards different goals. I’m very grateful for that opportunity as I learned a little about each component of a business.
When I'm not working on designs or models, you can usually find me at the gym. I'm a big fan of powerlifting and I find it really helps me to clear my head and focus. I'm also a bit of a drone enthusiast and enjoy using them to capture some cool footage. So, that's a little bit about me, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to chat about 3D printing!
